Our Story

Jamie and Richard purchased what is now SunPower Farm in 2010, moving to Virginia from New Jersey. They had a vision of creating a solar-sustained farm, starting with pasture raised sheep, and adding horse boarding and training. Jamie & Richard wanted to create an alternative to typical 'large farming practices' and instead let their animals live happily, freely and naturally.

Together they have done extensive renovations to the property, including replacing fencing, new roofs on every building, fresh paint and enclosing several barns for different animal housing. Jamie wanted to create a vibrant paradise for her animals, and that is what Sunpower Farm has become.

Jamie has been an avid equestrian for over 40 years. After competing successfully up to the USEA Intermediate level of eventing she focused on dressage. She is a USDF Silver Medalist and is currently working on her Gold Medal.

The farm is home to our horses, dogs, free range sheep, ducks, geese, chickens, alpacas and two very friendly pigs.
